An unidentified person was found dead yesterday in Talisay City, while two others died in separate shooting and hacking incidents in Kabankalan City, all in Negros Occidental, on September 14, according to police reports.
Farm worker Rommel Fernandez reported to the police that an unidentified person, with an injury on his forehead, was found yesterday lying on the road at Hacienda Otilla in Brgy. Efigenio Lizares in Talisay City.
The victim was described by the police to have been at least 60 years old, wearing a black jacket and denim pants with black shoes, about 5 feet and 3 inches tall, with a fair complexion.
The cadaver is now in a funeral parlor for post mortem examinations.
A farmer identified as Ranel Letigio was also reported by the police to have died after being shot, allegedly by Rubin Tingal on Sept. 14 at Sitio Dangalon, Brgy. Hilamonan, Kabankalan City.
Police investigations showed that the Tingal was accompanied by two other suspects when the victim was shot in a rice field.
On the other hand, two suspects in a hacking incident identified as Raffy and Jade Blanco were both arrested by the police on Thursday at Purok Asoc in Brgy. Pinaginpinan, Kabankalan City.
The two arrested suspects and Rene Blanco, who remains at large, were linked to the hacking of Alejandro Blanco, 61, and Bella Blanco, 53.
As reported by the police, Alejandro was declared dead on arrival at the Tabugon Community Hospital, where Bella is being treated for her injuries.
As of yesterday, the motives of the shooting and hacking incidents are still being established by the police.*
