A laborer and a fisherman were among the three fatalities in violence-related incidents on November 24 and 25 in Negros Occidental, where two of the suspects involved remain unidentified as of this time, according to the police.
The cadaver of a laborer whose identity was withheld by the police, was discovered Friday, inside a sugarcane plantation at Hacienda Quinaroyan in Brgy. San Pablo, Manapla.
As reported by the Manapla police, the 34-year-old victim succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds
Police investigators recovered three fired caliber .45 cartridges and a cellphone at the scene of the incident.
A 57-year-old fisherman, whose identity was also withheld by the police, was declared dead on arrival at the San Carlos City Hospital, after he was hit with a hard object at the back of his head on Nov. 24.
The victim was reported to have been sleeping in a nipa hut at Sipaway Island in San Carlos City, when the suspect, who was later arrested by the police during a follow up operation, hit him with a hard object.
Meanwhile, a resident of Passi City in Iloilo who tried to pacify a commotion at Sitio Ipil-ipil ,Brgy Mambulac, Silay City, was stabbed dead by a still unidentified suspect on Nov. 25.
The 40-year old victim, whose identity was also withheld by the police, succumbed to stab wounds at the chest and left abdomen. He was declared dead on arrival at the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City, according to the police.
Heated altercations also led to the stabbing of a 29-year-old person at PLDT Baybay in Brgy. Mambulac, Silay City.
The suspect, a 48-year-old resident of Brgy. 20, Victorias City, immediately fled after the stabbing incident, while the victim is now being treated for his injuries at a public hospital in Silay City.*
