Three police stations in Negros Occidental have new chiefs of police, following the final reshuffling of commanders imposed by Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOcPPO).
Among the local government units (LGUs) who announced the change of police leadership were the cities of Silay, Himamaylan, and Bago.
PLt. Col. Edison Garcia is now in-charge of the Silay City Police Station, taking over the former commander, PLt. Col. Anthony Darroca.
PLt. Col. Kim Lopez assumes command of the Himamaylan City Police Station, succeeding PLt. Col. Anthony Grande.
Meanwhile, PLt. Col. James Latayon Jr., who was under the Provincial Intelligence Unit, has been appointed as the new chief of the Bago City Police Station, taking over PLt. Col. John Ganzon.
Latayon had served as the COP of Cauayan, Hinigaran, and Sipalay before his installation in Bago City.
Latayon said in his interview with the CityBridge Bago, the official page of Bago City Information Office, that under his leadership the station will prioritize solving the unending traffic incidents in the city, as pleaded by Mayor Mayette Javellana-Yao.
NOcPPO Spokesperson PCapt. Judesses Catalogo said in an interview that the outgoing station chiefs have been relieved from their posts and reassigned to the provincial headquarters after completing their two-year tour of duty in their respective areas.
High-ranking officials and police commanders under the leadership of NOcPPO Director, Col. Dennis Wenceslao have renewed their commitment to law enforcement to Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson during their New Year’s Call 2026 at Capitol Social Hall on Monday.*
