• THERESA MAE DULMAN
Three private hospitals in Bacolod City have submitted a new Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to the city government for the continuation of the Bacolod City Comprehensive Health Program (BacCHP).
BacCHP Focal Person Atty. Marty Go, explained that a new MOA is required as Mayor Greg Gasataya is now the signatory to the agreement, while the old MOA was still with former Mayor, now Bacolod Lone District Rep. Alfredo Abelardo Benitez.
The three hospitals that committed to a new MOA are The Doctors’ Hospital, Inc., Bacolod Queen of Mercy Hospital, and South Bacolod General Hospital.
The city is still awaiting the submission of the new MOA from three other private hospitals in Bacolod, who have small revisions and edits.
“The provision of the MOA is still the same, the amount, the guidelines, and requirements never changed,” said Go.
Go said that the renewal is the standard procedure to keep the program operational.
He also assured all program beneficiaries that they can still use their BacCHP card even in hospitals that have not yet signed the new MOA.
“We need a new MOA with the signature of the new Mayor to process the payments or the billings submitted by the hospital from July onwards,” he said.
The BacCHP is a flagship program of Benitez aimed to provide healthcare assistance to Bacolod indigents.*
