3 UNO-R programs get PAASCU accreditation

Three academic programs of the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos were accredited by the Philippine Association of Accrediting Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU). 

The Senior High School of the UNO-R Integrated School and BS Agriculture program of the College of Arts and Sciences were granted initial three-year accreditations, while the Information Technology program of CHED Center of Development College of Information Technology is re-accredited. This was communicated to UNO-R President Rev. Fr. Joel Alve, OAR by PAASCU Executive Director Ricardo Palo on June 2. 

In December 2024, PAASCU also granted level III accreditation to the BA Communication Program of the College of Arts and Sciences; BS Accountancy Program and Business Administration Program of the College of Business and Accountancy; Bachelor of Secondary Education, Bachelor of Elementary Education, Bachelor of Physical Education and Bachelor of Special Needs Education of the College of Education; and Civil Engineering program of the College of Engineering.

SUCCESSFULLY HURDLED CPALE

Eleven alumni of the College of Business and Accountancy successfully hurdled the May 2025 Certified Public Accountants’ Licensure Examination. They are Alyssa Andrea Angeles, Jake Bryan Lucendo, Rexylyn Mae Avaristo, Quennie Ann Salbebia, Esther Clare Batorito, Ma. Shane Sisles, Ayessa Mari Ferrer, Lixie Imee Soriano, Ma. Therese Aguirre, Cassia Jashey Ymballa and Camela de los Santos.

The PRC announced that 3,156 out of 9,533 (33.11 percent) successfully passed the May 2025 CPALE. UNO-R got a 57.89 percent (11/19) overall passing rate. The passing percentage for the first takers is 58.82 percent (10/17).

CHEDRO XVIII-NIR AWARDS

Alve also led the UNO-R group to receive the awards from the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office – Negros Island Region (CHEDRO XVIII-NIR) in Dumaguete.

Recognition for the provision of support to CHED-RO XVIII – NIR and the Recognition for autonomous status were received by Alve. University Community Development Office OIC Director Alvin Ramoran, RSW, received the Award for excellence in community extension while Research and Development Office Director Engr. Ashraf Khater received the Award for excellence in research; Internationalization office Director Dr. Agnes Sequiῆo for the Award of excellence in internalization initiatives; Director for Student Affairs Dr. Dexter Paul Dioso for the Award of excellence in student affairs and services, and Scholarship’s Office Associate Director  Sarah Jane Gayat for the Award of model implementer for the SIKAP program.*
