A minor was reported by the police to have drowned on September 15 at Sitio Tikoy Tikoy in Brgy. Cabacungan, La Castellana, Negros Occidental.
The victim, a 3-year-old girl, was declared dead on arrival at the La Castellana Health Clinic, after she was found at a river of Sitio Obay in the barangay, about a kilometer away from her residence in Sitio Tikoy Tikoy, according to the police.
Initial police investigation indicated that the victim was left behind by her mother at her grandmother’s house which was beside a river.
Unknown to the mother, the victim went home unattended, and was carried away by a strong current while crossing a river, the police investigation further said.*
