31 couples tie the knot in Valentine mass wedding

MASS WEDDING.  Saraviahanon couples who tied the knot during the mass wedding officiated by E.B. Magalona Mayor Marvin Malacon at the town’s public plaza on Valentine’s Day*

E.B. Magalona Mayor Marvin Malacon officiated the Valentine mass wedding of 31 Saraviahanon couples at the town’s public plaza on February 14, a press release from E.B. Magalona PIO said.

In his message to the newlyweds, Malacon underscored the indispensable role of parents in raising responsible children who will later become productive adults and make up a loving and caring community.

Local Civil Registrar Mercedes II Recla said this is the ninth mass wedding Malacon had officiated since taking the helm of the Municipal Government in 2016. Meanwhile, this is also the 24th wedding ceremony in the Municipality organized annually by the Local Civil Registrar’s Office.

Diesah Biaoco, supervising statistical specialist of Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Bacolod, served as guest of honor and speaker. She expounded on this year’s theme and informed the public of the PSA activities for the Civil Registration Month.

The conduct of mass weddings is part of the PSA activities for the Philippine Statistics Month, specifically for the Civil Registration Month, celebrated every February. This year’s theme is, “Building a Resilient, Agile, and Future-Fit Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) System.”

SPECIAL AWARDS

Virgilio Ramis, 55, and Ellen Gallego, 49, of Barangay Tabigue were awarded the oldest couple, while Gerald Articulo and Jeanny Bernil were named Best in Wedding Attire.

The Early Birds were Rockwill Papa and Michaela Guinabo, having arrived at the venue at 11 PM of February 13, while Rockwill Papa and Michaela Guinabo won the Longest Kiss.

The winner of the Pre-Nuptial Shoot Award that was held at Tomongtong Mangrove Eco-Trail, were Jeven Gaco and Erika Brabangco.

Randy Bulong and Marivic Barbon of Barangay Alicante led the signing of marriage contract, as witnessed by Mayor Malacon, Vice Mayor Eric Matulac, and Sangguniang Bayan Members Gilda Parcon, Edgardo Agravante Jr., Wyndel Depasucat, and Gelita Parcon.

Each married couple received a sack of rice from Mayor Malacon, and grocery items from SB Members Gilda Parcon, Edgardo Agravante Jr., and Wyndel Depasucat.

Also shown in the ceremony was a prenuptial video taken of the couples who earlier attended an orientation on Solid Waste Management (SWM), where they planted 1,000 mangrove seedlings at the Tomongtong Mangrove Eco-Trail, to symbolize their shared commitment to protecting the environment.*
