A total of 315 personnel from other police units arrived yesterday in Bacolod City to secure the ongoing MassKara Festival.

PLt. Col. Sherlock Gabana, Public Information Officer of the Bacolod City Police Office, disclosed that the augmentation forces came from the Police Regional Office 6 headquarters in Iloilo City, as well as from the Negros Occidental and Iloilo Police Provincial Offices.

Of the newly arrived police personnel, Gabana reported that 289 are police non-commissioned officers, while 26 are police commissioned officers who will serve as their supervisors.

Gabana added that newly-arrived police personnel will be distributed to different festival sites and event centers, to render anti-criminality functions and provide security and police presence in all MassKara-related venues and activities.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and his family, Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio, Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri and Speaker Martin Romualdez are among the top government officials expected to attend the highlights of MassKara Festival.

On the other hand, the MassKara sa Panaad opening ceremony will start 4 p.m. on Oct. 10 at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City, with a parade of festivals.

It will feature LGU festival dances, Negros Occidental Singing Ambassadors, Ritmo Verde Dumbeaters and Poseidon Dance Theater.*
