Mayor Marvin Malacon yesterday administered at the public plaza, the mass oath-taking ceremony of 322 newly elected barangay kagawads and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) members of all 23 barangays of E.B. Magalona.
That represents seven barangay kagawad and seven SK kagawad per barangay, from all 23 barangays of E.B. Magalona.
On November 6, newly elected punong barangays and SK chairpersons of 23 barangays of E.B. Magalona also took their oaths of office before Malacon.
In his message, Malacon told the newly elected barangay council members and SK council members to serve their constituents well and support their respective punong barangays and SK chairpersons in implementing programs and projects that could benefit their communities.
“Set yourselves as good examples and be the solution to the problems in your barangays,” Malacon stressed.
Atty. Pierra Fuentespina-Lamayo, DILG municipal officer, and town police chief PMaj. Kenneth Jay Gratones also assured the barangay and SK council members, especially the first-termers, that the DILG and the PNP are always ready to give them support and guidance, particularly in conducting workshops and training relative to their roles and functions as local officials.
Also witnesses to the oath-taking rites were members of the Sangguniagn Bayan, led by Vice Mayor and BAKAS (Barangay Kagawad Association of Saravia) president Matthew Louis Malacon, and Fr. Ernie Larida, parish priest of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, among other municipal department officials, a statement from the EB Magalona Public Information Office said.*
