Three hundred twenty-three police officers were promoted, while an additional 244 recruits took their oath as full-fledged law enforcers on Monday at Camp Alfredo M. Montelibano Sr., Brgy. Estefania, Bacolod City.
The Police Regional Office Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) held the donning and pinning of ranks ceremony of the 323 personnel who were promoted.
The promotion includes 1 police lieutenant colonel, 19 police captains, 4 police lieutenants, 3 police executive master sergeants, 46 police chief master sergeants, 10 police senior master sergeants, 58 police master sergeants, 65 police staff sergeants, and 117 police corporals.
Regional Director PBrig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, who personally administered the oath of office and the pinning of newly promoted officers, reminded the officers of their shared responsibility to ensure the safety and well-being of the people in the region.
“As the Regional Director of the Police Regional Office Negros Island Region, I now issue this clear directive: serve with integrity, enforce the law without fear or favor, uphold professionalism in every operation, protect human rights at all times, and ensure that public trust remains at the center of everything you do,” Ibay said in his remarks, citing that “the promotions were earned through discipline, sacrifice, and commitment to public service,” and reminding officers that “leadership is measured by character and example.”
Meanwhile, a total of 244 personnel, including 187 male and 57 female recruits, were formally appointed as law enforcers during the Oath-Taking and Turnover Ceremonies of the Newly Appointed Patrolmen and Patrolwomen under the Calendar Year 2025 Attrition Recruitment Program.
The event marks a milestone in their professional careers as they officially joined the ranks of the Philippine National Police.
Following the oath-taking ceremony, the newly appointed recruits were formally turned over to the Regional Learning and Doctrine Development Division, marking the start of their structured professional formation.
They were subsequently turned over to the Negros Island Regional Training Center, where they will undergo rigorous training designed to hone their discipline, operational competence, and adherence to police doctrines and core values.*
