The 10-day Simultaneous Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) in Negros Island Region has led to the arrest of 341 suspects, who are fugitives from law, engaged in illegal drug trade and illegal gambling, and in possession of unlicensed firearms and explosives, during the period covering February 4 to 10.
Eighty-three drug personalities were neutralized by the police, following their arrests, which led to the recovery of 625.9 grams of suspected shabu valued at P4.24 million.
The campaign dealt a significant blow to the illegal drug trade operating within the region, according to a statement issued by the Police Regional Office – Negros Island Region.
In the same period, a total of 134 fugitives from law were nabbed, where 37 were categorized as Most Wanted Persons.
The campaign against loose firearms led to the arrest of 20 suspects, recovery of 20 unlicensed guns and five explosives, while 64 other firearms have been surrendered to the police.
The accomplishments demonstrate both intensified enforcement and strengthened collaboration with the community in preventing armed violence, the PRO-NIR further said.
The 39 operations against illegal gambling resulted in the apprehension of 104 individuals and the confiscation of P18,097 in cash bets.
Through sustained, intelligence-driven, and coordinated operations, the PRO-NIR said it will continue to dismantle criminal activities and hold offenders accountable.*
