The police seized sachets of suspected shabu from a woman nabbed for curfew violation at Galo Street in Barangay 19, Bacolod City, at about 11:40 p.m. Sunday.
Station 4 policemen arrested Ma. Caryl Montoyo, 28, of Barangay Villamonte in Bacolod.
Patrolmen John Perpetua and Feb Jun Perez, who are assigned as beat patrollers of the Burgos Patrol Base, were implementing the curfew when they saw a man, later identified as Fheer Moreno, 45, of Barangay Singcang-Airport in Bacolod, and a woman, later identified as Montoyo, fighting in the street.
Moreno was trying to grab a brown pouch from Montoyo, and the police apprehended them for violating curfew and creating alarm and scandal.
Perpetua then told Montoyo to show the contents of the pouch and found two medium, an elongated, and small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu, and a disposable lighter, police records show.
The seized items were brought to the Negros Occidental Crime Laboratory.
Meanwhile, 362 more were apprehended for violating COVID-19 health protocols in Bacolod City, Wednesday up to yesterday.
The total number of violators have reached 5,874 since May 20.
Police officers of stations 1 to 10, Bacolod City Mobile Force Company, and Mobile Patrol Group conducted simultaneous operations against those not wearing face masks and practicing social distancing.
Yesterday, the police caught 74 individuals, including teenagers who were gathering at the Bacolod Public Plaza, 62 on Sunday, 31 on Saturday, 87 on Friday, 65 on Thursday, and 43 on Wednesday.*
