3rd district has highest virus cases

The third district topped the list among the six districts of Negros Occidental with the most number of COVID-19 positive cases, excluding the lone district of Bacolod City, as of September 3.

The third district, composed of the cities of Victorias, Silay and Talisay and the towns of EB Magalona and Murcia, has 351 COVID-19 cases, followed by 4th district with 284, 2nd district – 188, 5th district -183, 6th district – 151, with 115 in the 1st district, records of the Department of Health 6 showed.

Among the 31 cities and municipalities in Negros Occidental, excluding Bacolod City, Silay has the most number of positive cases with 124, while the town of Salvador Benedicto registered the lowest number of cases with four, the report added.

Of the 1,264 cases all over Negros Occidental, the DOH-6 report showed that there are 586 active cases, 666 recovered, and 12 deaths.

The DOH-6 report also revealed that of the affected persons, 506 are Locally Stranded Individuals, domestic – 496, Overseas Filipino Workers – 187, frontliners – 45 and 22 are Authorized Persons Outside Residence (APORs).

Majority of the infected LSIs and APORs came from Manila and Cebu, the report added.*
