3rd suspect in teacher’s slay surrenders

The three suspects in the murder of a 51-year-old teacher on August 16 in Binalbagan, Negros Occidental, have all been accounted for by the authorities.

This comes after the third suspect, identified by the Binalbagan police as Jonathan Santella, 22, of Hda. Lourdes, Brgy. San Jose of the town, surrendered to Moises Padilla Vice Mayor Ian Villaflor, who immediately coordinated with Binalbagan Mayor Alejandro Mirasol who had turned him over to the police.

The two other suspects, John Rey Castino, 19, and John Paul Fernandez, 21, are now detained at the Binalbagan custodial facility.

The victim identified as Tony Lazaga, a faculty member of the Binalbagan Catholic College, was found dead on Aug. 16. He succumbed to multiple stab wounds, as reported by the police.*
