BY GILBERT P. BAYORAN

Four doctors assigned at the public hospitals being managed by the provincial government of Negros Occidental are being investigated for alleged maltreatment of patients to medical malpractice, disclosed Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz yesterday.

While he did not identify them, Diaz said the complaints were already filed before the Department of Health.

They will definitely face sanctions, he also said, stressing that “they ought to render quality service,” as they are well compensated.

Diaz also said that they are also monitoring hospitals rejecting patients referring them by the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City.

“They should be responsible to the patients coming to hospitals,” he added.

Under the administration of Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson, Diaz said they have been consistent in upgrading the services of district hospitals by providing sizable budget allocations.

One Hospital System was also implemented to improve further the delivery health care services, he added.*
