Four Bacolod residents have separately been sentenced to life imprisonment for the sale illegal drugs.
Sentenced by Judge Raymond Joseph Javier of the Bacolod Regional Trial Court Branch 52 are Norman Agayan de Asis, alias Papang Boktot; Rene Bernal Tobongbanua, alias Dodoy; Rex Portugaliza Zayco, alias Nonoy; and Joey Garganera Yap, alias Bebe.
De Asis was charged for the sale of .221 gram of shabu to a police poseur buyer for P1,000 in Purok Chereza 2, Barangay 27, Bacolod on Sept. 16, 2019, and for having in his possession 107.721 grams of shabu.
Tobongbanua was charged for selling .7191 gram of shabu for P2,000 to a police poseur buyer in Purok Himaya, Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City, on Oct. 16, 2019 and for possession of 175.145 grams of shabu.
De Asis and Tobongbanua were sentenced to two counts of life imprisonment for the sale of drugs and to pay a fine of P500,000, and for possession of shabu, to pay a fine of P1 million.
Zayco was sentenced to life imprisonment for the sale of .045 gram of shabu to a police poseur buyer for P500 at Emerald Street, City Heights Subdivision, Bacolod City, on Aug. 7, 2019.
He was also sentenced to 12 years and 8 months as minimum to 17 years and 8 months as maximum, and to pay a fine of P300,000 for possession of .953 gram of shabu.
Yap was sentenced to life imprisonment and to pay a fine of P500,000 for the sale of .1076 gram of shabu for P200 to a police poseur buyer in Purok Pili, Barangay 8, Bacolod City on May 29,2019.
He was also found guilty of possession of 6.6683 grams of shabu and sentenced to 20 years and one day imprisonment and to pay a fine of P400,000.
Javier ordered their immediate transfer from the Metro Bacolod District Jail to the National Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa, Metro Manila.
The seized drugs were ordered turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 6 for destruction.*
