A total of 4,750 beneficiaries of the AKAP Tulong Eskwela Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development Office, in Negros Occidental, yesterday received a total of P14,250,000 in financial assistance from the government.
Each beneficiary received P3,000, according to a statement issued by the DSWD Field Office VI.
The program is under the DSWD’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS).
The payout was simultaneously conducted on August 30 in the cities of Bacolod, San Carlos, Sagay and Victorias, all in Negros Occidentaal.
Sandy Jin Robles, 19, a grade 12 student from Brgy. Airport-Singcang in Bacolod City, expressed her gratitude as one of the beneficiaries who received financial aid.
“I am truly blessed and very thankful because this is a big help for my school needs and also to my father who needs medical assistance right now due to a road accident last night with minor injuries,” the teary eyed Robles said.
AKAP- Tulong Eskwela Program aims to provide financial aid to Filipinos with minimum wage earners or identified as near poor families and those children enrolled in senior high school.*
