Week-long ant-drug operations of the police in Western Visayas from March 1 to 7, led to the arrest of 48 drug suspects, and the recovery of P.6.8 million worth of illegal drugs, according to reports of the Police Regional Office 6.
In the report, the PRO 6 said that Bacolod City Police Office had the biggest combined seizures of illegal drugs, reaching a total value of P6.6 million.

The BCPO and Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office are still under the supervision of PRO 6, pending the activation of Police Regional Office 18, which is an offshoot of the creation of Negros Island Region.
In a statement, PBrig. Gen. Jack Wanky, regional police director of Western Visayas, lauded the series of successful operations by the different anti-drug police units in the region.
“Our accomplishments on the illegal drug campaign show our hard work and unwavering commitment. We remain strong and unyielding in our position that illegal drugs have no place in Region 6,” Wanky said.
All the arrested drug suspects were charged in court for violation of RA 9165, known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.*
