4PH housing project underway in Victorias

• GILBERT P. BAYORAN

The city government of Victorias, in partnership with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), formally conducted the concrete pouring ceremony for the Victorias Residences Rental Housing Project in Barangay XIX on May 27.

The Victorias Residences Rental Housing Project is part of the national government’s Expanded Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program, which seeks to provide safe, decent, and affordable rental housing for low and moderate-income informal settler families across the country.

The ceremony was led by Victorias City Mayor Abelardo “JunB” Bantug III alongside DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling, representatives from Victorias Milling Company and Canetown Development Corporation, and project developer Thaison Builder & Developer Inc., in coordination with the City Human Settlements and Urban Development (CHSUD).

In his message, Bantug thanked the national government and DHSUD for their continued support and funding assistance for the housing project.

He emphasized that the initiative represents more than just the construction of buildings, noting that it symbolizes hope, stability, and better opportunities for Victoriasanon families.

The housing development is a joint undertaking of DHSUD, the City Government of Victorias, and Thaison Builder & Developer Inc., aimed at expanding access to quality and affordable housing for residents of Victorias City.

Also present during the event were officials from Iloilo City and the Municipality of Batad headed by Mayor Elvira Alarcon, representatives from the National Housing Authority (NHA), Pag-IBIG Fund, Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), partner agencies, barangay officials, city department heads, stakeholders, and beneficiaries of the housing initiative.*
