Five drug suspects are now locked up in jail following their arrests on December 7, in Negros Occidental, for violation of RA 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002, which resulted in the confiscation of about 7.5 grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P47,600.
Two of the five suspects, including a 33-year-old woman and 28-year-old jobless person, were apprehended by the police during a buy bust operation at Hacienda Faraon, Barangay Cabahug, Cadiz City.
Their apprehensions yielded five sachets of suspected shabu, and P500 in marked money.
The arrest of another drug suspect in Brgy. 4, San Carlos City, yielded 2.3 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P15,640, while the apprehension of a 50-year-old tricycle driver in Brgy. Rafaela Barrera in Sagay City, led to the confiscation of 2.7 grams of suspected shabu, valued at P18,360.
The police also recovered about two grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P13,600, from an arrested drug suspect at Bangga Dose in Brgy. Zone 1, Talisay City.*
