Five drug suspects are now locked up in jail, following their arrests on August 4, 5, and 6 in Negros Occidental, in operations that also yielded an estimated P103,700 worth of suspected shabu.
Lowell Taladua and Joy Basilio were both apprehended by the police during a buy bust operation in Sitio Sawangan, Brgy. Libacao, Himamaylan City, which also yielded about six grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P40,800, an improvised shotgun with two ammunition, P500 in marked money, and improvised shabu paraphernalia.
The apprehension of John Mark Treyes in a similar operation on Aug. 6 at Purok Santan in Brgy. Zone 4, Talisay City, also resulted in the confiscation of an estimated two grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P13,600 and P500 in marked money.
Meanwhile, Rodolfo Poblador, 32, faces complaints of violation of RA 9165, known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002, after he was arrested during a buy bust operation on Aug. 4 at Antonio Luna in Brgy. Mambulac, Silay City.
The Silay police recovered about seven grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P47,600, and marked money of P1,500, among other items.
Police also nabbed Mark Braviel Sorote in another buy bust operation at Purok Amihan 2, in Brgy. Suba, Calatrava.
Nine sachets of suspected shabu with a market value of P4,700 and marked money of P500 were recovered by the police in the possession of Sorote.*
