Five suspects are locked up in jail, after separate arrests on Tuesday, for engaging in the peddling of illegal drugs, and the possession of unlicensed firearms, according to reports of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office.
The apprehension of alias Timber, 48, during a buy bust operation at Purok Sampaguita, Barangay Binicuil, Kabankalan City, led to the confiscation of about 55 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P374,000, and P500 in marked money.
A similar anti-drug operation at Sitio Dacutan Dacu in Barangay Mambulac, Silay City, also led to the arrest of alias Ryan and alias Red, and the recovery of about nine grams of suspected shabu valued at P61,200, and P3,100 in marked money.
A tricycle driver was also arrested by the police at Beth Resto Bar in Barangay Lopez Jaena, Murcia, for violation of the Comelec gun ban.
The apprehension of alias Nonoy, 38, yielded a .45 caliber pistol with a magazine containing five ammunition, and a holster.
A raid at the residence of an alias Buyong, 60, in Barangay Tuyom, Cauayan, which was conducted by the police by virtue a search warrant issued by the Kabankalan Regional Trial Court Branch 61, led to the recovery of a homemade caliber .22 revolver with three ammunition.*
