A day before Valentine’s Day, a total of 50 couples exchanged sacred vows in the municipality of Moises Padilla during its annual mass wedding ceremony yesterday, dubbed “Kasanag sang Paghigugma.”
Now in its fourth year, the mass wedding was officiated by Mayor Ella Celestina Garcia-Yulo and was attended by Vice Mayor Felix Mattias Yulo and members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod.
The youngest among the couples that were wed was 18 years old, the mayor mentioned as she offered legal and marital advice to the newlyweds.
“It is important that they make God the center of their married life. Temptations are there, but as long as they stand with each other, there will be no problem,” she said.
The mayor also disclosed that over 50 couples had applied for the mass wedding ceremony. However, some were unable to participate this year due to limited slots.
Garcia-Yulo vowed that those who missed this year’s event will be given priority for next year’s ceremony.
Meanwhile, today, February 14, in observance of Valentine’s Day, 202 couples are set to tie the knot in a mass wedding in Bacolod City.
The ceremony, officiated by Mayor Greg Gasataya, will take place at the Bacolod City College gymnasium.*
