Fifty families in Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental, whose houses destroyed by Typhoon Tino in November last year, will soon have permanent homes.
Mayor Ella Celestina Garcia-Yulo led on Wednesday the groundbreaking ceremony for a new housing project in Barangay Quintin Remo, Moises Padilla. She was joined by her husband, Vice Mayor Vice Mayor Felix Mathias Segundo “Pimpoy” Yulo III, and members of the Sangguniang Bayan.
The Quidan Kaisahan Housing Project will benefit 50 families, with 43 beneficiaries being residents of the barangay, and seven from Inolingan village.
In her message during the groundbreaking rites, Garcia-Yulo expressed gratitude to Quidan Kaisahan and AmCham Philippines for their significant support in the municipality’s rehabilitation efforts.
The mayor said the housing project is not only a major relief for affected residents, but will also help restore their dignity by providing them with safe and secure homes.
The mayor also announced that the local government unit will construct a communal comfort room at the housing site to ensure cleanliness and proper sanitation for the beneficiary families.
Also present during the ceremony were barangay officials led by Punong Barangay Felisa Villaflor, Municipal Engineer Agnes Glia Mabag, Quidan Kaisahan Project Manager Benjie Largo, and AmCham Philippines project lead Jeño Perio.*
