In a span of one week’s worth of anti-drug operations, the police in Negros Occidental has arrested 52 drug personalities.
Of the 102 drug suspects who were neutralized by the Police Regional Office 6 from July 1 to 7, 50 percent of the arrested personalities have been accounted for by both the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office and Bacolod City Police Office.
Their apprehensions also yielded 3.3 kilograms of suspected shabu with a market value of P22.6 million, regional police spokesman PLt. Col. Arnel Solis said.
NOCPPO ranked first, having the most arrested drug suspects at 38, Iloilo Police Provincial Office – 21, BCPO – 14, Capiz PPO – 10, Iloilo City Police Office – 9, Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit – 4, Aklan PPO – 3, Antique PPO – 2, while one was arrested by Guimaras PPO.
“May the arrest of these 102 persons serve as a lesson to the remaining illegal drug peddlers to stop outright. If you continue, you are the next subject of our law enforcement operations,” PBrig. Gen. Jack Wanky, regional police director of Western Visayas, said.
In the same period, the BCPO recovered 1.3 kg of suspected shabu with a market value of P8.8 million.*
