A total of 599 soldiers assigned at the Army’s 3rd Infantry Division in Western and Central Visayas have been promoted.
Four of the promoted Army personnel are now junior military officers, according to a statement issued by the Army’s 3rd Infantry Division.
Of the 595 enlisted personnel, 314 were promoted to the rank of Corporal and 281 others to the rank of Sergeant.
In a statement, Maj. Gen. Marion Sison, 3ID commander, congratulated the newly promoted enlisted personnel and officers for their well-deserved promotions and a job well done.
Meanwhile, on January 29, 2nd Lieutenants Donna Grace Legaspi, Neva Jane Galvez, Giessallyn Alacrito, and Melven Zausa, all from 3ID, successfully completed the 45-day Pre-Deployment Training (PDT) as Call to Active Duty (CAD) Officers at the Army’s Reserve Command Training School in Camp Riego de Dios, Tanza, Cavite.
Before being called to active duty, the four soldiers served as Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) in 3ID’s infantry units, holding the rank of Army Corporal.
Brig. Gen. Orlando Edralin, 303rd Infantry Brigade commander, led the donning of ranks to seven newly promoted Non-Commissioned Officers and the pinning of the Unit Badge to newly assigned Officers and personnel on Jan. 30, at Camp Maj. Nelson Gerona in Brgy. Minoyan, Murcia, Negros Occidental.
The pinning of ranks ceremony is a military tradition administered to recognize and highlight a milestone in the military personnels’ respective careers. It signifies a new chapter in their noble profession that carries more responsibility.
Edralin also welcomed Col. Victor Llapitan, newly assigned deputy brigade commander, Lt. Col. Alfredo San Agustin, and Cpl. Ven Gador.
Prior to his assignment in Negros, Llapitan used to be the Philippine Army Assistant Chief of Staff for Civil Military Operations, and commander of the 61st Infantry Battalion in Panay island.*
