The series of buy bust operations during the weekend in Negros Occidental led to the arrest of six drug suspects and seizure of about P190,000 worth of illegal drugs.
A former inmate, whose identity was withheld by the police, was apprehended yesterday by the police during a buy bust operation at Purok Magsungay in Brgy. Singcang Airport, Bacolod City.
The Drug Enforcement Team of Police Station 8 recovered an estimated 15 grams of suspected shabu from the arrested 42-year-old suspect, who is now locked up in jail.
The arrested drug personality was only released three months ago from jail, due to violation of RA 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.
About nine grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P61,200, was recovered by the police on November 18 during a buy bust operation in Brgy. 1 poblacion, Silay City, from an arrested drug peddler, a 41-year-old tricycle driver.
Separate buy bust operations in Hinigaran and Cadiz City in Negros Occidental, also led to the arrest of two more suspected drug peddlers and the recovery of three grams of suspected shabu with market value of P20,400.
Two more anti-drug operations in Moises Padilla and Cauayan also led to the apprehension of two drug suspects and the recovery of P7,000 worth of suspected shabu, according to reports of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office.*
