6 drug suspects nabbed; shabu, marijuana seized

The arrest of six drug suspects in separate buy-bust operations by the police on March 6 in Negros Occidental yielded more than a kilo of dried marijuana leaves and shabu with a market value of more than P148,000.

Nabbed during a buy-bust operation in Sitio Lupao, Brgy. Quezon, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, were Joemarie and Arjames Caballero Paran, and Arnel Reboton Paran, all residents of the place.

The joint buy-bust operations of the San Carlost City police, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, and Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6, yielded 1.2 kilos of suspected dried marijuana leaves, a Remington 45 caliber pistol with a magazine containing two ammunition and P1.100 in marked money.

Policemen also arrested Archie Franco in another buy-bust operation Saturday in Purok Awa, Brgy. Zone 6 in Cadiz City.

The apprehension of Franco, alias Eprol, yielded P1,360 worth of suspected shabu, and P500 in marked money, police said.

Another buy-bust operation in Purok Nipa, Brgy. 6, Victorias City  also led to the arrest of Gerard Herrera, alias Boranday, and the recovery of suspected shabu with a market value of P3,400, assorted paraphernalia, a cellular phone, P320 in cash and P300 in marked money.

On March 5, a laborer identified as Jay Viajedor, 18, was apprehended for violation of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002, at Bantayan Park in Brgy. Poblacion, Bago City.

The arrest of Viajedor yielded six sachets of suspected shabu, P96 in cash and P300 in marked money, according to the Bago City police.

All arrested suspects are now locked up in separate police custodial facilities.*
