6 nabbed for illegal drugs, guns

• GILBERT P. BAYORAN

Policemen arrested six suspects on Thursday and Friday in Negros Occidental, for the possession of illegal drugs and unlicensed firearms.

Separate raids by the police in cities of Bago and La Carlota led to the arrest of a laborer and a jobless person, and the recovery of two caliber .22 revolvers with seven rounds of ammunition, and two rounds of caliber .38 ammunition.

The arrest of two drug suspects, alias Lito and alias Otep, at the Relocation Site in Barangay 21, Victorias City, also led to the confiscation of about 18 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P122,400.

Two other drug suspects, both laborers, are now locked up in jail, following their apprehensions on June 20 at Purok Ipil-ipil, Barangay Enclaro, Binalbagan, for violation of RA 9165, known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.

A gram of suspected shabu, valued at P6,800, was recovered by the police from the two suspects.*
