• GILBERT P. BAYORAN

Policemen have confiscated a total of about P200,000 worth of suspected shabu in separate buy bust operations on June 12 in Negros Occidental.

A buy bust operation conducted by the police at Bangga Daan in Barangay 1 poblacion, Victorias City, led to the apprehension of alias EC and the recovery of about 22 grams of suspected shabu valued at P149,600.

A similar anti-drug operation in Brgy. 1 poblacion, Moises Padilla, led to the confiscation of an estimated six grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P40,800, from a drug suspect identified by the police only as alias En-En.

Four other drug suspects were nabbed by the police in Toboso, E.B. Magalona, Cauayan, and Hinigaran, which yielded an estimated two grams of suspected shabu valued at P13,600.

The six drug suspects, now locked up in jail, are facing charges for violation of RA 9165, known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.*
