6 PRO-NIR units in the running for awards

Six police units in Negros Island Region are candidates for the awards as best PNP units in the country, in line with the celebration of the 124th Police Service Anniversary on August 8 this year.

The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) is again vying for the national award as Best Provincial Office (BCPO), while the Bacolod City Police Office is competing to be the Best City Police Office in the country.

Two years ago, NOCPPO was adjudged as best Provincial Police Office in the Philippines.

Both units are respectively headed by P/Colonels Rainerio de Chavez and Joeresty Coronica, who are classmates at the Philippine National Police Academy.

The BCPO Mobile Force Company is also in the running for the national award of the Best City Mobile Force Company, and the 2nd Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company as Best Provincial Mobile Force Company;

Bayawan City Police Station in Negros Oriental is a candidate for the Best City Police Station, and La Castellana Police Station in Negros Occidental as Best Municipal Police Station.

Those NIR police units have demonstrated exemplary service and exceptional professionalism in the performance of their duties, said a statement from the Police Regional Office – Negros Island Region.*
