A total of 670 residents of Victorias City and EB Magalona in Negros Occidental, recently received medical and educational assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
Of the beneficiaries in Brgy. 7, Victorias City, 245 got a total of P1.2 million in medical assistance, while 122 others received P7,500 each in educational assistance with a total amount of P915,000.
In EB Magalona, a total of 303 indigent residents also availed of medical and educational assistance from the DSWD.
The Office of 3rd District Rep. Jose Francisco “Kiko” Benitez facilitated the assistance, which was under the Social Welfare and Development – Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (SWAD- AICS) in EB Magalona.
Of the number, 195 availed of medical assistance, 103 received educational assistance, and five Saraviahanon scholars studying in China also received educational assistance.
The payout was sponsored by the Congressional Fund through the DSWD Western Visayas regional office.*
