7 arrests yield P210T in shabu

The separate arrests of seven persons on July 11 and 12 in Negros Occidental, led to the seizure of about P210,000 worth of suspected shabu, as reported by the police.

A 21-year-old student identified by the police as Ramir Alimoot was apprehended during a buy bust operation at Antonio Luna in Brgy. Mambulac, Silay City.

The arrest of Alimoot yielded an estimated 30 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P204,000, and marked money of P3,800.

Three other suspects identified by the police as Eron Guasa, Geifran Asumbrado, and Rudy Castro were also arrested by the police in Brgy. XIV, Victorias City.

Guasa and Asumbrado, both residents of Hda. Florencia, Brgy. 18-A, Victorias City, were initially intercepted by the police for not wearing helmets.

However, a sachet of suspected shabu and its assorted paraphernalia, and P550 in cash were recovered by the police during their arrests.

The Kawasaki motorcycle they were riding was also impounded by the police.

The apprehension of Castro, who was also intercepted by the police for a traffic violation, also yielded a sachet of suspected shabu valued of P340, and a Kawasaki motorcycle with a sidecar.

Also nabbed for violation of RA 9165, known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002, were Janilo Dianongco in Himamaylan City, Marlon Mermal in Binalbagan, and Joebeth Onates in Cadiz City.

Their apprehensions yielded 19 sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated market value of P14,000, an improvised gun with ammunition, and P1,000 in marked money, police said.*
