70 couples attend Sagay City’s biggest mass wedding

A total of 70 couples in Brgy. Malubon, Sagay City, Negros Occidental, including their Punong Barangay and his partner, were married yesterday in the barangay’s covered court as part of the Kasalan ng Bayan program of Sagay City Government.

Mayor Narciso “Narwin” Javelosa, Jr., administered the wedding of Punong Barangay Joseph Añalucas and other 69 couples in Brgy. Malubon today, considered one of the biggest mass weddings in Sagay.

In a statement issued by the Sagay City Public Information Office, the event was also attended by Vice Mayor Leo Rafael Cueva, Councilors Sherwin Sy, Roldan Gamao, Rodnel de los Reyes, Ching Javellana, and Dura Javelosa, and Local Civil Registry Head Vivencio Floren.

It said that Mayor Javelosa aims to conduct these weddings to every barangay, while bringing closer to the communities the government services available under his administration.

Vice Mayor Leo Rafael Cueva sent his best wishes to the newlyweds and encouraged them to work hard to make their marriage work and keep their love for their eternity.*
