The Commission on Elections logged that 74.3 percent of voters turned out during the synchronized barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections on October 30 in Negros Occidental.
This indicated that 1,498,754 of 2,014,725 of the registered voters in the province voted during the recently concluded BSKE 2023.
Comelec records showed that among those who voted, 798,612 were male while 772,079 were female.
More females voted, pegged at 75.03 percent, compared to 73.92 percent of male voters.
For the SK elections, a total of 480,047 voted, where 233,047 were male while 247,705 female, translating to a voter turnout of 72.76 percent.
Of the total number of those who voted for SK, Comelec records also showed that 40,501 of those who voted were aged 15-17, and 440,104 voters were aged 18-30 years old.
Negros Occidental has 660,709 youth voters in 5,704 clustered precincts.*
