Policemen arrested 78 persons for illegal gambling in EB Magalona, and the cities of Cadiz and Victorias, Negros Occidental, on April 29.
Of the arrested suspects, 70 were nabbed during a raid on illegal cockfighting in Hacienda Margarita, Brgy. San Isidro, EB Magalona, as a result of a joint operation conducted by the town police and troopers of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6.
Recovered were an injured game fowl, two more game fowls, and 15 dead fighting cocks, P2,900 in cash bets, and four gaffs.
Eighteen of the arrested suspects are senior citizens.
Eight other suspects were also nabbed also for illegal gambling in cities of Cadiz and Victorias, resulting in the confiscation of P506 in cash bets and two mahjong sets.*
