More Covid-19 vaccines earmarked for the provincial government of Negros Occidental and the highly-urbanized Bacolod City arrived Saturday at the Bacolod-Silay Airport, as both local government units stepped up their vaccination activities.
The provincial government of Negros Occidental received 50,000 doses of Sinovac vaccines, while Bacolod City got 25,000 doses of Sinovac and 3,510 doses of Pfizer.
The provincial government is also expecting the arrival of more than 3,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccines they have purchased, within this week.
Meanwhile, the provincial government of Negros Oriental said it had received 152,714 doses of Sinovac, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, and Johnson and Johnson’s Janssen from the national government, as of Saturday.
It has already administered vaccines to 105,877 residents, including those in Dumaguete City, with 44,716 fully inoculated. The provincial government said it targets to inoculate 879,365 Negrenses to achieve herd immunity.*
