Eight individuals were arrested after being caught in a buy-bust operation conducted by authorities in Purok Magtiayon, Barangay 10, Bacolod City, at around 3:45 a.m. yesterday.
The operation spearheaded by the Bacolod City Drug Enforcement Unit recovered an estimated 30 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated value of P204,000 from the suspects.
Of the eight suspects, five originated from Iloilo and were identified as alias ‘Christian,’ 24, a resident of Barangay San Isidro, Jaro, Iloilo City; alias ‘Patrick,’ 25, a resident of Gen. Luna St. Iloilo City; alias ‘Janby,’ 23, a resident of Barangay San Isidro, Jaro, Iloilo City; alias ‘Gerimar,’ 22, a resident of Barangay Rosario, Dumangas, Iloilo; and alias ‘Christian,’ 24, a resident of Barangay Cabugao Sur, Sta Barbara Iloilo.
The three Bacolod residents arrested with them were alias ‘Tyrone,’ 26, a resident of Purok Camerole, Barangay 35; and alias ‘Jong,’ 27; and alias ‘Charles,’ 26, both residents of Purok Kagaykay, Barangay 2, Bacolod City.
Based on reports, all eight suspects are unemployed.
The suspects are currently detained at Police Station 2 and will face charges for violation of sections 5 and 11 of the Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
