The arrest of eight drug suspects in series of buy-bust operations in Negros Occidental and highly-urbanized Bacolod City yielded more than P1.1 million worth of suspected shabu.
The bulk of confiscated shabu, estimated at 170 grams, with a market value of P1,156,000 and P1,000 in marked money, were recovered yesterday by the police during a buy-bust operation at Purok Santan in Brgy. Camugao, Kabankalan City.
Nabbed during the joint operation of the Drug Enforcement Group Special Operations Unit 6 led by PLt. Eric Deocampo and the Drug Enforcement Team of Kabankalan led by PLt. Dennis Melgarejo and Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office, in coordination with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 6, were Jomy and Leocella Consular, both residents of the place
Also recovered by the police were two cellular phones and a Kawasaki Bajaj tricycle from the arrested suspects.
Five grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P34,000, marked money of P300 and P200 in cash were also seized by the police from Daniel Torres in another buy bust operation yesterday at Puentebella Subdivision in Brgy. Taculing, Bacolod City.
Other drug suspects apprehended were Restituto Montaus in Bago City, Sean and Joy Sagal, Rosalie Cata-Cata and Chris Gealon in Ilog, as well as Marben Canoy in Cauayan, that yielded an estimated P12,000 worth of suspected shabu.*
