The campaign against the proliferation of illegal drugs and loose firearms led to the arrest of eight suspects on Saturday in Negros Occidental.
The implementation of a search warrant at Purok Tumpok in Barangay Pandanon, Don Salvador Benedicto, led to the apprehension of alias Eddie, a 48-year-old laborer.
His arrest yielded a caliber .45 pistol with a magazine containing seven ammunition and a holster.
The arrest of a drug suspect identified only as Mark, 25, in Brgy. Purisima, Manapla, led to the confiscation of an Armscor 9mm pistol with a magazine containing three ammunition, and one gram of suspected shabu with a market value of P6,800.
Six more drug suspects were also arrested by the police in separate buy bust operations in Hinigaran, Murcia, Binalbagan, and Silay City, which yielded about 20 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P136,000.
All the arrested suspects are locked up in jail.*
