81K worth of shabu seized

BY WAYNE A. BIGSAT

More than P81,000 worth of suspected shabu was confiscated in a buy bust operation led by Police Station 7 at about 4:15 p.m. in Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City.

Police Capt. Elmer Bonilla, PS7 commander, identified the suspect as Arnel Alcones, 58, of Purok Kabugwason, Brgy. Mansilingan and was arrested after he handed one heat-sealed transparent sachet containing suspected shabu in exchange for P500 to a poseur-buyer.

He added the suspect was considered a street-level individual, and was the subject of surveillance for a month before his arrest.

Recovered during the operation were five pieces transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu including the buy bust item, all weighing 12 grams with a standard drug price value of P81,600, a black-colored leather pouch, P250 in loose change and P500 buy-bust money.

Alcones was brought to the custodial facility of PS7 while charges for violation of section 5 (Sale) and section 11 (illegal possession) of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were being readied.*
