BY GILBERT P. BAYORAN

The distribution of the second tranche of the government’s Social Amelioration Program grant to 82,890 families in Negros Occidental, including Bacolod City, is ongoing, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Merle Garcia said.

Garcia said the recipients are the families who were left out during the release of the first tranche of SAP.

She said the payout centers in Cauayan, Ilog and Hinobaan are the RCBC or rural banks in those areas, while in Bacolod City, the subsidy is coursed through the branches of M Lhuillier, Cebuana Lhuillier and Western Union.

The distribution of the second tranche of SAP supposedly ended July 31 but due to problems in the digital system, it was delayed, she added.

Garcia said each family will receive P6,000.*
