A total of 978 commissioned and non-commissioned police officers assigned at the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office and Bacolod City Police Office have been promoted.
Of the promoted PNP members, 70 are officers and 907 others are police non-commissioned officers (PNCOs), with ranks ranging from Police Corporal to Police Executive Master Sergeant.
PLt. Judesses Catalogo, spokesperson of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, reported that 709 NOCPPO members, including 52 officers, were promoted to the next higher rank.
PLt. Col. Sherlock Gabana, BCPO Public Information Officer, also reported that a total of 269 Bacolod City Police Office policemen and women, including 18 officers, were also promoted.
In the entire Region 6, a total of 3,335 policemen and women assigned to different provincial and city police offices have been promoted, according to, regional police spokesperson, P/ Major Mary Grace Socorro Borio.
Borio said their promotions took effect December 12.
A total of 37 were promoted to Police Major, 171 to Police Captains, and 17 to Police Lieutenants.
For the PNCOs, 133 were promoted to Police Executive Master Sergeant; 210 to Police Chief Master Sgt.; 111 to Police Staff Sgt.; 353 to Police Master Sgt.; 1,226 to Police Staff Sgt.; and 1,077 to Police Corporal.
The simultaneous donning of ranks for the promoted PNP members is scheduled on January 10 next year.*
