The Rotary Club of Bacolod-Marapara inducted a new set of officers for Rotary Year 2023-2024, with Dr. Eric Malo-oy as the club’s 31th president.

The induction, held at a gala-dinner on August 11 at the Technological University of the Philippines-Visayas (TUPV), Talisay City, was attended by community leaders and members of the Rotary family.

Guest of honor and keynote speaker was Rep. Jose Francisco “Kiko” Benitez (3rd District, Negros Occidental). Rotary District Governor Maria Ester “Mate” Espina was the inducting officer of the new officers and directors.

Malo-oy was ushered into the one-year term by his predecessor Lani Ferrer, who turned over the bell and gavel as a symbol of the transfer of power and authority.

Club members and guests gathered to honor the outgoing president for her remarkable service and to welcome the new leader who would guide the club in its future endeavors.

In his induction speech, Malo-oy expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him by his fellow Rotarians and outlined his vision for the future of the club.

“I pledge to continue to build on the strong foundations so passionately laid by Lani and my predecessors with projects that have helped to preserve our environment and made a real difference to the lives of so many less fortunate people in our society.

“Together, we will continue to make a positive impact on our community, transforming lives and creating lasting change,” he said.*
