It was an overwhelming display of oneness and unity as Bacolod and Negros Occidental extended the legendary hospitality the City of Smiles is known for to Philippine Vice President Leni Lobredo and Senator Kiko Pangilinan, who arrived recently.

That morning was a sight to behold! It was a sea of pink as supporters lined up the streets that composed the 15 kilometer stretch from airport in Silay City all the way to the boarder of Bacolod City.   Festive music filled the air as the drum beaters sponsored by Tima Lacson created a happy mood on that sunny day.

Volunteers all came in pink with their own props, some brought pom-poms, other covered their vehicles in tarpaulins with the faces of Vice President Leni and Senator Kiko, while others made Pink stars. The group of Edith Robillo performed Zumba to the excited crowed, while Sam and Trish Golez and Jacinto Family cheered with their respective and personally made pom-poms. That day, entire families came.

Both leaders had a full packed two-day schedule for Bacolod and Negros Occidental. Among their visits include a courtesy call to the University of St. La Salle Bacolod and a dialogue with La Salle Brothers led by Brother President Kenneth Martinez, FSC.*
