Abanse Negrense – NBTC basketball league Central Negros qualifiers set

Following the launch of the Abanse Negrense – NBTC Basketball League North Negros and South Negros Local Qualifiers in the municipalities of Manapla and Pontevedra on January 6 and 7, respectively, the Provincial Sports Office Team is gearing up for the opening of the Central Negros Local Qualifier Tournament at the Montalbo Court in Bacolod City on January 13, Saturday at 8 a.m.

Ten participating teams, including La Consolacion College, Colegio de Sta. Ana – Victorias (CSA-V), Red Owl (Prestige034Focal), STI West Negros University (STI-WNU/NZANE), Spartans, Bacolod Tay Tung High School (BTTHS), Bata Lions, Davies Paint/El Tzino, RGC Stingers, and BEBE 2025 will vie to represent the province in the Regional Championship on February 15 – 18 in Cebu City.

Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson is set to open the League Central Negros local qualifier, together with Anthony Carlo Agustin, the executive assistant for aports. Also, NTBC Program Director coach Eric Altamirano and SBP Regional Director Robert Uy are the guest of honors for the opening ceremony. 

The schedule of games for the Central Negros Cluster will be announced on Saturday. The games of the North and South Negros Clusters will be held simultaneously every Saturdays and Sundays, starting January 6 and 7 at Don Edilberto B. Vocal Sr. Memorial Civic Center in the Municipality of Manapla and at the Pontevedra Gymnasium in the Municipality of Pontevedra, respectively. The Central Negros Cluster, on the other hand, will commence on January 13 with four scheduled games.

The championship games for all three clusters of the basketball tournament that is part of the Abanse Negrense Sports Programs are set on February 3.*
