About P938,400 worth of suspected shabu and a gun were seized in two buy-bust operations in Bacolod City, Thursday night.
Station 2 policemen recovered P578,000 worth of “shabu”, weighing about 85 grams, drug paraphernalia, and a gun, in Purok Paglaum, Barangay 17 in Bacolod City, at about 10:20 p.m. Thursday.
Arrested during the operation were Zerlin Magbanua, alias “Tata”, 40, Jimbo Meniao, alias “Binot”, 23, and Rene Yanson, alias “Radz”, 43, all on the police watchlist.
Twenty sachets of suspected shabu, P25,000 in marked money, P2,500 in cash, a .22 caliber homemade revolver, live ammunition, and drug paraphernalia were also seized, police records show.
Meanwhile, Regional Drug Enforcement Unit-6 operatives recovered P360,400 worth of suspected shabu from three men in Purok Masagana, Jalandon, Barangay 6, Bacolod, at about 7 p.m. Thursday.
Edje Geduria, Rustom del Rosario, and Richard Monton were nabbed during the operation with 17 sachets of suspected shabu, including the buy-bust item, P500 in marked money, two cellular phones, and P1,500 in cash proceeds, police records show.
All those apprehended are now detained at the Station 2 custodial facility and charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being readied against them.*
