In commemoration of the Consumers Solidarity Day on May 1, the Alliance of Concerned Consumers in Electricity and Social Services (ACCESS), will hold a forum to reflect the partnership of ACCESS with Negros Power.
ACCESS president Wennie Sancho said that their partnership with Negros Power has enabled them to work together in addressing the needs and concerns of the electricity consumers.
One of the highlights in the program of the Consumers Solidarity Day will be the issuance of the Unsolicited Appreciation Report by ACCESS for the Negros Power. The purpose of issuing an appreciation report by ACCESS is to acknowledge the good services of Negros Power in its efforts to provide reliable and efficient electricity services. This will also strengthen the relationship between ACCESS and Negros Power fostering a collaborative environment where both parties can work together to address consumers concern and improve services, he said.
Moreover, the appreciation report can highlight the benefits of Negros Power’s services to consumers promoting consumers welfare and awareness of their rights and responsibilities. The report can serve as a platform for consumers group and Negros Power to discuss areas of improvement, share ideas and work together to address challenges and opportunities in the communities, Sancho said.
“The appreciation report is a heartfelt appreciation by ACCESS for the vital role Negros Power plays in our community. As a distribution utility, the operation of Negros Power has significantly contributed to the social and economic development of the Negros Island Region,” he said.
ACCESS acknowledges the challenges faced by Negros Power in maintaining and upgrading the electricity infrastructure, ensuring compliance with the regulatory requirements and providing excellent customer services. Sancho assured that Negros Power’s dedication in overcoming these challenges has not gone unnoticed, hence issuance of the unsolicited appreciation report.
He stressed that “As we are about to celebrate the Consumers Solidarity Day on May 1, we recognize the importance of collaboration between consumers and distribution utilities and other stakeholders in the power industry in promoting solidarity, because solidarity is a collective responsibility.”*
