Good news for residents of Negros Occidental.
The establishment of a Professional Regulation Commission service center in Victorias City, and the creation of an additional regional trial court in Silay City, are being expected to be realized soon.
This was after House Bill 2332 that seeks to establish PRC service center in Victorias City, and HB 1448, aimed creating another RTC in Silay City, all under the 3rd district of Negros Occidental, have been approved by the House committees on Civil Service and Professional Regulation, as well as Justice, disclosed Rep. Jose Francisco Benitez yesterday.
Benitez, who sponsored the two proposed bills in the House of Representatives, said the growing demand for PRC services, arising from an increasing population and number of college students, thus, necessitates the establishment of one additional service center in Negros Occidental.
The solon noted that the four PRC offices in Iloilo serve applicants for licensure examinations, and licensed professionals in Western Visayas, and its 4.7 million population.
Benitez said the establishment of a PRC center in Victorias City will decongest the workload of PRC Service Center in Bacolod City, and will not only benefit the third district of Negros Occidental, but also its neighboring local government units.
This will enhance efficiency in the processing of applications, makes transaction faster, and will lower travel cost for PRC clients, the solon further said.
As to the new RTC in Silay City, Benitez said it will bring the court closer to the people, declog existing courts, improve administration of justice in the third district of Negros Occidental, and strengthen the faith of Negrenses to the justice system.*
