The Mt. Cansermon Command of the New People’s Army yesterday issued a statement claiming responsibility for the death of an alleged military and police informant on January 25 in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.
In a statement, rebel spokesperson Ka Dionesio Magbuelas reported the successful operations of a rebel unit, under the command of MCC NPA/South Central Negros Guerilla Front, in the imposition of the death penalty against Regie “Gang Gang” dela Cruz, in Sitio Maiti, Brgy. Buenavista, Himamaylan City.
Magbuelas alleged that dela Cruz served as an active military and police informant, whom he linked to the arrest and killing a certain Ka Carding and Ka Clea on April 22 last year.
He also reported the confiscation of two fragmentation grenades from dela Cruz.
The NPA Leonardo Panaligan Command of the New People’s Army also earlier claimed responsibility for the killing of two alleged military informants, including a barangay kagawad, on January 14 and 19, in Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental, and Vallehermoso, Negros Oriental, respectively.*
